Big weekend May 16 & 17– Chicago’s Green Festival will take place both days at Navy Pier. It’s a big gathering of green people –you can see all the speakers and exhibitors online. I’ve flagged lots of speakers and booths of interest, and will have some tough choices to make, as I am…

Taking the Introduction to Beekeeping Class at the Chicago Honey Coop on Saturday May 16. My friend and nutritionist Sherry Belcher mentioned wanting to learn more about honeybees and the challenges they are facing– which are our challenges, since without the honeybee, we’re not here either. I met Michael and Sydney at the Logan Square Farmer’s Market a few seasons back, and suggested we take the class to learn more. It’s from 9am-3pm on Saturday, so Sunday looks like Green Festival Day.

I’m a little bummed about missing the Cubs at noon Saturday at Wrigley. That’s the problem living in a great city…which thoroughly wonderful and interesting thing will I do today?
