Food Facility Design

LSK offers design services including kitchen drawings, spec sheets, and hood engineering for construction. We do not provide stamped architectural drawings for permits– we can recommend licensed architects if you’re looking for recommendations.

We know what you need to get the job done in a food facility, and we speak Health Department. Use us a little, or a lot– you define our scope to fit your needs. We can facilitate Health Department reviews and approvals as required. We can recommend trusted professionals if you need assistance selecting project team members.

Food Facility Construction

LSK can fulfill role of Owner’s Representative, Project Manager, or Consultant. Construction services are customized for each project. It can begin from start of design, construction, and follow-through to final licensing inspections, even beginning operations. Budget tracking, timeline management, contract review and negotiation, value engineering, equipment purchase & installation are more examples.

Zina Murray is a HACCP plan writer and lead instructor, certified by the International HACCP Alliance. Services include HACCP plan writing, reassessments, training, and regulatory submission and approval.

Food Business Consulting

Over the past 12 years, LSK has supported scores of small food businesses in nearly every category. As a past operator of a shared kitchen, Zina’s got first-hand experience of risk, economics, priorities and success factors.

First consulting session costs $200/hour, two hour minimum. If our relationship continues, rate drops to $175/hour after ten hours billed. Once appointment is set, you email agenda/questions — in advance. You’ll leave session with meeting notes and follow-up resources.

How and when you apply for required food licenses has become a strategic step in your business decision-making. Getting guidance before you speak with regulators will save you time, money and hours of sleep. Regulatory enforcement and priorities are always changing, so how and when you apply is critical. First-session fee is $200 per hour, two hour minimum. Hourly rate drops to $175 per hour after ten hours billed. 501(c)3 and farms: $150/hour.
