I received a revised schedule from our contractor this week; weare waiting for our very special light fixtures for our dining room. They help us achieve a 35% energy reduction in our lighting use. (they better, they cost enough!) Anyway, we are looking forward to construction completion the latter part of July.

Another element of our LEED strategy involves flushing out all the air that has been in the building during construction, and replacing it with outside air. This air quality exercise gets rid of so much stuff that’s in the air during construction…such a dusty business! While we’ve used materials that are as friendly as possible, this will make our building so much healthier for all who work, and celebrate in it.

This air quality flush-out must occur post-construction, and pre-occupancy. If Mother Nature cooperates, we should only have to be empty for a few days. But we must maintain the air within certain temperature and humidity limits, so who knows.
