Food Safety


First sign of spring is your required Festival Sanitation Certificate if you will be preparing food at temporary events. This 3-hour class must be renewed each year. 

We're again happy to hold this class on the 2nd Floor of Revolution Brewing in Logan Square, 2323 N. Milwaukee Ave, steps from California Blue Line. Have a beer and talk food safety with other cool vendors.

All classes are on Monday evenings from 5:30pm-8:30pm on the following dates:

April 21
April 28
May 5
June 9

ServSafe Food Safety Manager Classes: 

Private classes are available at your place of business, 10 students minimum.  Contact Prices are same as below.

Chicago Food Safety Manager 2-day classes: provides ServSafe Food Safety Manager Certification and City of Chicago Food Manager Certificate, good for five years, provided class completed and 75% test score.

Attend one day of class and take exam.  YOU MUST bring your original certificate, picture ID, and #2 pencils with you to class, or you won't be able to renew. Allow 8-12 weeks to receive your City of Chicago Food Manager Certificate.  If your certificate has expired, you MUST take 2-day class.  Email of call 773-550-9642 with questions.

Fee is $115 + $35 for City of Chicago certificate.  Optional textbook is $70. Dates:
