The Dill Pickle Food Coop just started construction around the corner from the Kitchen at 3039 W. Fullerton, just west of Milwaukee Ave. Opening this fall, we look forward to having another neighbor in our local food community. Did I mention it will be the only food coop in Chicago? Financed largely via a member loan program, these dedicated neighbors are building something amazing and wonderful for all of us. Thanks Pickle People!

Logan Square has got it goin’ on when it comes to local sustainable food efforts. Lula of course, is first and foremost, with ten years of sourcing from local farms and making beautiful food with it. Thank you, Jason and Lea!

About five years ago a small handful of neighbors started our Farmer’s Market, which has grown into quite the Sunday happening. New Wave Coffee, owned by our passionate neighbors on Kedzie, are carrying baked loveliness from Marketvendors like Tiny Cakes (another Logan Square business). Provenance Food and Wine, works on sourcing locally and regionally and is always searching for the next great local discovery. You go, Tracy!

The Logan Square Kitchen will be the City’s only small (seats 75) sustainable private event space, where folks are free to choose their favorite chef– we have recommendations if you like. It’s amazing to be a part of such a great neighborhood…and I haven’t even begun to talk about the art and music scene. The Whistler and just-opened Cole’s are making that happen.
